A source in the Premier League told the newspaper that so far they are still waiting for the decisions of both, the Ministry of Culture, Media and sports.


But the ministry spokesman revealed to the English newspaper that no sports events will be held on the day of the funeral.


The report pointed out that those responsible for the football sector in the United Kingdom, will study the matter and whether it is appropriate for the nation to hold matches within 72 hours of the death of the queen or not.


Postponement of Premier League matches


And it was assumed, that the matches of the seventh round of the English Premier League will be held on Saturday, Sunday and next Monday.


In the meantime, the matches of that round will most likely be postponed entirely.


While the eighth round will be held next week, it is not clear at that moment whether there will be any postponements for that round or not, as the funeral ceremony will last for 12 days.


But as for the Europa League match that took place this evening between Manchester United and Real Sociedad, it was played on time after a statement from the English club, which announced a minute of mourning before kick-off.
